Meet the Pickleball Classic Co-Chairs
Katie & Mookie McDevitt
Katie is a Phoenix native who proudly reps her roots (and her sunscreen). She attended Xavier College Prep, where she crossed paths with Chelsea and other future Wigged Out Board members. She headed west to Santa Clara University, earning a Finance degree in 2003. These days, she crunches numbers and brokers deals as a Reinsurance Broker at Guy Carpenter.
Mookie hails from Sacramento and graduated from Jesuit College Prep before heading to Loyola Marymount University, where he earned a Communications degree in 2003. He’s now the VP of Strategic Partnerships for Ace Pickleball Club—a booming indoor pickleball franchise—and co-owns a Houston-based ACE franchise, with a second on the way in 2025.
Katie and Mookie met in San Francisco in their 20s, bonding over their shared love of volleyball. They tied the knot in 2012 and now have two awesome daughters, Annabelle (11) and Clare (9). After a long break from competition, they found their way back to the court—this time as a pickleball duo.
